Types of mosaic tiles
There are several types of mosaic tiles you can choose from. It is wise to consider a number of things when choosing your desired type of mosaic tile.
First of all, it is important to consider the kind of surface you want to apply the mosaic tile to. For instance, any TMF mosaic tile suits application on walls but not all are suited for application on the floor. Second, it is also important to consider the type of room. For example, some mosaic tile types are more convenient for a bathroom than others. Finally, it is obviously important to consider what kind of style you wish to create and what type of mosaic tile best lends itself to this.
Mosaic tile types
The types of mosaic tiles below are available within the TMF range:
- Ceramic mosaic tiles. Made from clay and come in different shapes, sizes and colours. These mosaics are fired at high temperature (1200-1400 °C), making the ceramic material last very long. They are also easy to maintain and relatively affordable.
- Glass mosaic tiles. Made of glass and available in different colours, textures and finishes. This makes them ideal for creating artistic designs and adding a .special touch to your space. For example, glass mosaic tiles are perfect for swimming pools and wellness areas. Glass mosaic tiles can also be done responsibly. Our TMF Valencia range consists of at least 87% recycled window glass, making it a very concious and sustainable choice.
- Natural stone mosaic tile. Made from natural materials such as marble, granite and other natural stone types. Real natural stone mosaics are often a bit more expensive than glass or ceramic tiles due to the material. However, they are very durable, easily fit into multiple interior styles and can really create a luxurious feeling to a design or space.
Apart from the above-mentioned types of mosaic tiles, other variations also exist. Think of mosaic tiles made from other materials such as wood, plastic and metal.
