Mosaic tiles for swimming pool or wellness area
Yes, mosaic tiles can be used in a swimming pool. In fact, mosaic is a very popular and durable choice for finishing a swimming pool. This is because it does not permeate water, it is resistant to chemicals such as chlorine and it is relatively easy to maintain.
You can make a pool really special with mosaic, for example by choosing a special colour or a customised pattern. In this, weigh up whether you want to incorporate mosaic throughout the pool or just accents and decorative elements.
If a mosaic tile does not absorb water, is resistant to (pool) chemicals and is also frost-resistant, it can be used as pool mosaic tile.
Mosaics of different materials can be used as a swimming pool tile. Within the TMF range, all glass mosaic and porcelain mosaic tiles are suitable. The two exceptions are Natural Stone which is too porous and Metallic mosaic tiles which are not resistant to chemicals and will oxidise in contact with pool water.
Glass mosaics are the most commonly used type of mosaic tiles in swimming pools.
