Ever since we started in 1993, this is what we stand for. We are motivated to help make every project special and to give every customer the best possible service.

With this motivation in mind, TMF designs mosaics suitable for almost any kind of space. Indoors, outdoors, at home, in public or professional spaces and everything in between. By doing so, we don’t make distinctions between customers, TMF mosaic tiles are for everyone.

The Mosaic Factory is convinced that this vision can be achieved by listening to the customer’s wishes as closely as possible, acting upon them and offering high-quality and affordable mosaic tiles. In the past, as part of tile wholesaler Zwaan, we achieved this by broadening the tile range with mosaics. Nowadays, The Mosaic Factory does so by solely selling mosaic tiles and continuously developing and adding to the already versatile range with different collections.

We closely follow the latest trends in the interior design industry, let these inspire us and effectively translate this into extensions and additions to collections in various shapes, sizes and materials. In doing so, we grow as a mosaic brand and strengthen our position within the global market.

Custom work adds something unique to any interior design, a distinctive and striking detail. That is why a customer can opt for custom mosaics. Think of a mosaic pattern for a wall, floor, or swimming pool, for example. Or a picture turned into mosaic tiles. The possibilities are endless, the results are always beautiful.

Our history

In 1993, The Mosaic Factory was founded as part of tile wholesaler Zwaan in Lisse as a broadening of the product range. After the start of the new millennium, The Mosaic Factory became an independent company in 2001 and moved to Renkum. More than 14 years followed during which The Mosaic Factory sold existing collections of its own brand, UCI Mosaic. However, new collections were not developed and the company changed managers three times. The Mosaic Factory did not develop further and the owners sold the company.

Time for new energy. Brand-and new owner and current managing director Bastiaan Beun draws up a new business plan; The Mosaic Factory is going to do things differently.

The new company name becomes Union Ceramics International (UCI) and The Mosaic Factory (TMF) becomes the new and much catchier brand name. The target market shifts from traditional wholesalers to the prescribing market (architects) and many product launches will follow. In 2018, UCI moves to Nistelrode and a year later, together with other companies in the interior design industry, opens the Architects Showroom in Amsterdam (ASA).

UCI introduces 2-3 new products every year and supplies more than 40 countries on five continents.

Visit our showroom or the TMF Experience Centre

Our showroom is open from from Monday till Friday, 08:00h till 17:00h. It is located at our head office in Nistelrode, The Netherlands. Since 2023, we have also finished our TMF Experience Centre (slider below). This is a multipurpose space to show visitors all the possibilities with our mosaic tiles. This new space can also serve as an inspiring setting to hold a meeting, give a presentation or to welcome guests.
